What do you want to be when you grow up? If you want your career dreams to come true, think about the following three things: income, skills, and passion.

Income is the money you earn when an employer hires you to work at a job. Ask yourself: What does my dream job pay well? Does your dream job have low pay? Your dream job doesn’t have to make you rich, but it needs to provide food, shelter, and a lifestyle that makes you happy.

Skills are the things you do well. Some skills come naturally, while others are learned over time. Ask yourself: Does your dream job use any of the skills you have? What other skills would you have to learn?

Career passion is a positive connection you have for your work. Without it, a job can feel boring or stressful. Ask yourself: What do you like learning about? What do you enjoy doing? Does your dream job match your passion?
