Refer a Friend Program - Terms and Conditions

MidWest America Federal Credit Union ("MidWest America FCU," "we," "us," or "our") offers the Member Referral Program ("Program"), which allows eligible members to earn incentives for referring individuals who become new members of MidWest America FCU.  By participating in the Program, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.  Under the Program, both the Referring and the Referred Member may earn a $90 incentive when all Program requirements are satisfied.  Only one incentive may be paid per Referred Member.

Referring MidWest America FCU Member

To participate as the Referring member, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be a current MidWest America FCU member in good standing.
• Provide your unique referral link to the Referred Individual for online account opening or instruct the Referred Individual to provide the Referrer's information when opening an account in person.
• Business, organizational, and commercial account relationships, MidWest America FCU employees, Board members, volunteers, and members of their households are not eligible to receive referral incentives.

Referred Member Eligibility

To qualify for the incentive, the Referred Individual must:

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Open a qualifying consumer membership account.
• Not have had any membership, account, or loan relationship with MidWest America FCU within the preceding 12 months.
• The Referred Member must use the Referrer's unique referral link when opening an account online, or
• Provide the Referrer's identifying information at account opening when opening an account in person.

Qualifying Account Requirements

The Referred Member must open:

• A Regular Share Savings Account; AND
• One of the following checking accounts:
• Freedom Checking
• Reward Checking
• Benefits Plus Checking

The Referred Member must:

• Maintain the required $5 minimum balance in the Regular Share Savings Account.
• Complete 15 qualifying debit card purchase transactions during the 45-day qualification period.
• Maintain all required accounts open, active, and in good standing for 45-day qualification period.

The following transactions do NOT qualify toward the 15-transaction requirement:

• ATM transactions
• VTM transactions
• Deposits made using a debit card
• Refunds and credit adjustments

MidWest America FCU reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Program at any time, with or without notice.  We are not responsible for delays, technical issues, system errors, or misuse of referral information. Good Standing means the member maintains an active membership with MidWest America FCU, is not delinquent on any loan obligation with the Credit Union, maintains required account balances, and has not caused a financial loss to the Credit Union or engaged in activity that would restrict or terminate account services. All memberships and accounts remain subject to approval and applicable membership eligibility requirements. By participating in the Program, Members authorize MidWest America FCU to disclose limited information as necessary to confirm eligibility, track referrals, and process incentives in accordance with applicable privacy laws. After all Program requirements are met, including the 45‑day qualification period, please allow up to 30 days for the incentive to be deposited into the applicable account. Incentives will be deposited as determined by MidWest America FCU and are not transferable. Incentives may be reported to the IRS on Form 1099‑MISC, as required by law Participants may not engage in: Fraudulent or deceptive activity, Misrepresentation of the Program, Spam or unsolicited communications, Improper use or distribution of referral links, or Activity that violates applicable laws or MidWest America FCU policies.  Referrals deemed abusive, fraudulent, or improper may be disqualified at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to correct any account error and reverse or recover any credit made in error to your account in accordance with the Credit Union Terms and Conditions and applicable law.
