"Cash in on 90" Contest rules

 

OFFICIAL RULES FOR THE MIDWEST AMERICA FCU 90TH ANNIVERSARY MEMBER SWEEPSTAKES

The following rules govern the promotional giveaway opportunities for MidWest America Federal Credit Union (“MidWest America,” “Credit Union,” or “Sponsor”). By participating in these sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Unless otherwise noted, the sponsor of all sweepstakes, drawings, and promotional giveaways is:

This promotion is not a lottery. No purchase, payment, account activity, or other consideration is required to enter or win. Void where prohibited.

1. PROMOTIONAL PERIOD

The sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time on May 1, 2026, and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time on December 31, 2026 (“Promotional Period”). Monthly drawings will occur after the end of each calendar month in this period.

2. ELIGIBILITY

The sweepstakes are open only to members who:

  • Are legal residents of the United States;
  • Are the primary account holder;
  • Are members of MidWest America FCU [no delinquent loans, charge off accounts, or membership restrictions] as of the date of each drawing; and

The following individuals are not eligible to win:

  • Employees, board members, and volunteers of MidWest America;
  • Immediate family members of such individuals (spouse, parents, siblings, and children);
  • Persons residing in the same household as an ineligible individual;
  • Entities or business accounts.

Void where prohibited by law.

3. ENTRY

Eligible primary account holders are automatically entered into each monthly drawing. No entry form is required. No purchase, account opening, loan application, or transaction is necessary to enter or win.

Limit one (1) prize per primary account holder for the entire Promotional Period. Upon accepting a prize, the member will be removed from all future drawings.

4. WINNER SELECTION & ODDS

Winners will be selected at random from all eligible members after the close of each month during the Promotional Period.

Odds of winning are approximately one (1) in the total number of eligible members. At the time these rules were drafted, MidWest America’s membership totaled approximately 51,413 members. Actual odds will vary based on monthly membership changes.

5. PRIZES

Between May 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026, MidWest America will award four (4) cash prizes per month:

  • Two (2) winners of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00)
  • Two (2) winners of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00)

A total of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) in cash prizes will be awarded each month during the promotional period. Prizes will be deposited directly into the winning member’s MidWest America account.

Prizes are non-transferable.

6. PRIZE ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS 

Winners must complete required documentation and verification and complete a W-9. In-person meetings with are preferred but not required where reasonable accommodation or alternative methods (virtual, mail, secure electronic signature) are appropriate.

7. COMMUNICATION & WINNER NOTIFICATION
Winners will be notified using the contact information on file with their membership account. MidWest America may attempt contact by email, phone, mail, or secure messaging.

If a winner does not respond within ten (10) business days, is determined to be ineligible, or declines the prize, MidWest America may select an alternate winner at its discretion.

MidWest America will communicate about this promotion only through official channels, including:

  • www.mwafcu.org
  • Official MidWest America email addresses
  • Official MidWest America phone numbers
  • Official Facebook and LinkedIn pages

8. TAX IMPLICATIONS
All prizes are considered taxable income and will be reported in accordance with IRS regulations. Members who receive $600 or more in prizes or other reportable value during a calendar year will be issued Form 1099-MISC. A completed IRS Form W-9 is required prior to prize disbursement. Winners should consult a tax advisor for personal tax implications.

9. PUBLICITY RELEASE
Except where prohibited by law, entry grants MidWest America permission to use the winner’s name, city, photograph, and/or likeness for promotional purposes in any media without additional compensation. By participating, entrants consent to this use unless the winner declines in writing, in which case the prize money will be forfeited.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless MidWest America, its employees, directors, volunteers, agents, and affiliates from any liability arising from participation in the sweepstakes or receipt, use, or misuse of any prize.

MidWest America is not responsible for:

  • Incorrect or outdated contact information;
  • Technical failures of any kind;
  • Lost, interrupted, incomplete, or misdirected communications;
  • Errors in printing, administration, or prize announcement.

11. RIGHT TO MODIFY, SUSPEND, OR TERMINATE
MidWest America reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the sweepstakes if fraud, technical issues, unauthorized intervention, or any other factor impairs the integrity of the promotion.

12. PRIVACY
Information collected, accessed, or used during the sweepstakes will be handled in accordance with MidWest America’s Privacy Policy and will not be sold or shared with third parties except as required for administration of this sweepstakes or as required by law. 

No personal information collected during this promotion will be sold or used for marketing beyond what is permitted under the Credit Union’s privacy policy.

13. WINNERS LIST
To request a list of winners, send a written request and self-addressed stamped envelope to:

Requests must be received by MidWest America no later than March 31, 2027.

14. SOCIAL MEDIA DISCLAIMER
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or any other social media platform. By participating, entrants release these platforms from all claims arising from the sweepstakes.

15. GOVERNING LAW
All issues and disputes concerning this sweepstakes shall be governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. Any disputes arising from this sweepstakes will be resolved individually and without class action.
